Soundbites from the album
Balsam Range is set to release their new project, Last Train to Kitty Hawk, this January on Mountain Home Records, a division of Crossroads Music. The new project promises to impress with its showcase of the band’s vocal abilities and instrumental prowess. The CD offers 12 tracks ranging from new original songs like “Julie’s Train” and “Jack Diamond” to traditional tunes like “I’m Lonesome Without You” from Ralph Stanley and Charlie Monroe’s “Down In Caroline”. Last Train To Kitty Hawk reflects the band's well known and unique mixture of modern bluegrass with the traditional Carolina mountain music they all grew up playing. Executive Producer Mickey Gamble adds "Balsam Range has come a long way with their first release and this sophomore effort is full of the kind of songs that remind us of why we love Bluegrass."
