Sad News From Home.

Sometimes people at a show, while still being caught up in the feeling of the show, will say things like, “You guys are the best in the world!” We always respond like this. “We aren’t even the best in Haywood County!!” Our area is so rich in musical heritage. We have grown up around true masters of mountain-style and old-time music. It has totally shaped our band.

One of our favorite musicians from home passed away suddenly and unexpectedly yesterday. Our friend Trevor Stuart, of the Stuart Brothers, left us at the age of 47. It has greatly impacted all of us. Trevor and his brother Travis are great people, and absolute masters of the old-time mountain style. We were fortunate to play with them around Haywood County, and their music was mesmerizing. Just a fiddle and a banjo, and incredible talent.

We would like to send our prayers and love to Travis and all of Trevor’s family. We can only imagine what an empty place there is for you and we pray for your peace. The rest of us are sad to lose a good friend, and to know that some of our culture passed with him.

God Bless.

I’ve only become aware of these two fellows on a Facebook posting. I do hope there is a library of audio and video of the duo. My thoughts are with the whole Stuart family.

Thank you all so much. He just loved fiddling and the music from our mountains. We will always miss him .
