Had a good practice last night (01/18)

Posted on: January 20th, 2012 by Marc Pruett

BR had a fun practice last night in Caleb’s guitar shop. Not only did we get to see a bunch of cool new guitars in progress…we got to hear them as well. We were working up some demos as possibilities to play…maybe even record. It’s a cool process to work with the guys on new songs…and get to hear what each man is interested in. Seems like it’s a big circle looking in every direction for songs. Darren brought some good ‘uns…even got to work up a cool new Milan Miller tune! Heck fire! Milan was there to teach it to us! Big time! Milan is one talented fellow, and he has had a strong hand in BR’s musical direction…and we appreciate him giving us songs to hear. I’m so proud to be associated with such a talented group of men, and we all look forward to seeing you all this season. We’re working on getting some cool shows and hope we’ll be close to your neighborhood. Come out and be with us. We’ll do our best to make sure you get to see some stage fun…you’ll get to hear it as well. I’ll throw this at you via Lester once…HAVE A PEACH OF A BIG WEEKEND WON’T YOU!!!

    Hey guys,

Have you ever thought about covering some of the Eagles old album “Desperado”? I think it would be great to hear your arrangement of Doolin-Dalton and Outlaw Man. Just a thought.

    • Hey David! Thanks for the note that’s a GREAT one. Eagles are so great though …it’s like George Jones music …hard to redo what was done right the first time. :) It’s an honor you thought of us on such a classic tune. Keep em coming ..we may try that one one day. :)

Howdy David! How are you doing man? Good to hear from you. I drove past your old home place today. Callie (our senior at PHS) and I went out on a photo trip…got some good barn stuff and trucks…even a couple of horses. Anyway…I think the guys could really do some great Eagles type stuff. Thanks for the thought…and we’ll keep looking for some of those great songs. Holler next time you’re around buddy. We need to gang up at Duke’s house again. Have a great week man!

Hey David. You know, I’ve always wanted to do “New Kid In Town.” I’ll have to revisit the Desperado record. I will tell you that we’ve been working up a classic rock tune-bluegrass style. That’s all I can say!

    Hi guys,

After hearing “Last Train to Kitty Hawk” on Sirius Bluegrass, then “Trains I Missed” a week later on DirecTV’s Bluegrass station, I was hooked. I’ve since downloaded both of those albums from Amazon and am a dedicated fan. I’m planning to come down from Roanoke to see you all in concert in the coming months. What a wonderful sound and great harmony! Thanks for keeping bluegrass current.

I loved the Altamont. What a great place to hear and see great music. Balsam Range needs to be a Monthly Act. I can see it now the First Wednesday of the Month.!!! To all, The Altamont is a must see venue. The only venue that could be better is your own living room.
