Thank you Steve for your enthusiasm and friendship. A little story here…when I helped record “Sweet Temptation” for Ricky Skaggs, it was a hot time…literally. Ricky asked me to pick up each one of the guys (separate trips to Nashville’s airport). I knew who Tony was…but had not met Bobby. I said, “Skaggs, how will I recognize him?” Ricky said, “Son, just look for the guy with the tallest black cowboy hat…and the longest, pointy-toed black cowboy boots you ever saw. That’ll be Bobby Hicks!” And you know…that description worked! I had an old Ford window-van with no air conditioning I drove for 9 years. That’s what I picked up Bobby and Tony with…and I bet it was 95 in the shade in BNA. That’s the hottest place I’ve ever been behind Columbia, SC! Ha! Needless to say, I was embarrassed to pick up those follows in my old van, but that’s all I had. Any way, that was an exciting time for me. Maybe we can play one or two of those old tunes we cut with RS. See you buddy!

Hey Scott. The Colonial Theater is located on Main Street in Canton, NC. Canton has a 2-way Main Street…a US 19 East and a US 19 West. The Colonial is on US19W… which is “the mill side of town”. I don’t have the contact info in front of me, but call the Canton Town Hall. The answering operator will direct you to ticket sales for the event. The Town is taking care of the tickets for this particular event, but in discussions with some of the other band members last night…we are thinking about putting our tickets on a separate page with PayPal options for the rest of the Winter Concert Series. Thank you so much for your inquiry, and I hope to see you there. All the best, Marc Pruett

Just wanted you to know how much I enjoyed seeing you and the band at Myrtle Beach a few years back. I’ve talked about your performance many times to many people. You guys are so good it’s hard to believe that I once had the nerve to play rhythm guitar behind you. Boy, was I naive. Caleb does things on his guitars I can’t even imagine. Keep up the good music. I’m sorry you weren’t at the beach this year. Broke my heart, actually.

Thank you Ted for your kind words. We did have some great times in Cullowhee pickin’…didn’t we? Don’t underestimate your talent Ted. I can still remember you singing the song about the “John B. Stetson Hat” at Gold City. Those were fun times for me…and I’ll never forget seeing you cooking those steaks in a hole in the ground right by the “gun fighter’s grave yard” at the end of the season! Tell Susan hi for me…and let’s pick one sometime!!! Marc

Joe and I are tempted to live in the area, at least part-time, so we can take advantage of the fantastic entertainment! I’ll tell the NC family about this show.
Love your new website! See you next summer.

Can NOT wait. Best show I ever saw was you guys with Rice sitting in at Bluegrass First Class 2 or 3 years ago. Seen you guys many times and you are always great, add those to legends and it is guaranteed to be a goodern.

Once again it was a pleasure seeing you and the rest of Balsam Range. I hadn’t been to Cherryville since my high school days, so he old rolling hills were like a tonic for my soul. Sure was windy, but the music was great. Congrats on the honorary doctorate; part of that should be for surviving some your relationships with WCU guys like me.
    Susan sends her regards.
    Ted
PS: I wish you guys would sell your tee shirts and caps online. I got tangled up in a conversation and missed getting some gear.
